What the numbers mean
- Wind (km/h & knots) — 1 knot ≈ 1.85 km/h. The Windguru widget below shows knots.
- Gusts — peak wind speed. If gusts are much higher than average wind, expect choppy conditions.
- Direction — points the way the wind is blowing to. In Essaouira, N / NNE = the classic trade wind.
- Wave / period — swell height in metres and time between waves (seconds). Longer period = cleaner surf.
- Sea temperature — the water is always refreshing; a wetsuit is included with every lesson.
